I first came across the weekday gnomes when immersing myself in Steiner education. From the very start I found them a wonderful way to connect the little ones imagination to the weekly cycle, and she quickly associated gnomes and their colour with the day and our daily rhythm. Now I’ve always loved the peg doll gnomes, and when this guide was in development I was intending on providing a much simpler tutorial for those, but who can resist the personality of a tiny doll gnome and their little knitted wardrobe. Its safe to say that although it may only be one gnomes special day - none of them miss the fun and these gnomes have become firm favourites in play too.
Of course the devil is in the detail as the saying goes. I always remember the disappointment as a child, at not being able to remove clothes from certain dolls or figures, so this pattern has been designed to allow clothes to be removed. Meaning not only great for children like I was, but fab for you - meaning you technically only need one doll and their outfits. Simply change them every day.
