Wonderful start to Bee week, a making thumb print bees and flowers in the garden.

This activity was totally unplanned, but it was totally what we needed and it was a joy to sit peacefully watching the bees go about their work beside us.

We have four large sheets of bee prints now, which I am going to re-purpose into wild flower bee buffet packets for a couple of families we have on our row with children. I’m going to convert the paintings into envelopes later today and put a few different wild flowers seeds in there with instructions☺️

Feeling blessed to have this outdoor space and to have such a beautiful family and community around us.

DIY Honeybee game. 🐝

I wanted to make a little game for the little one for her to play and process the ideas and themes we are talking about this week (and all the time I suppose lol) I had a package with this honeycomb cardboard in and I thought it would be perfect!

The object of the game is to fill as many honeycomb with pollen and nectar (yellow wool felt balls as you can) you do this by rolling a seed with a bee on one side and a yellow dot on the other, the bee means the Queen releases a baby from the hive and it brings back pollen (place it in the hole from the jar) if the seed lands yellow dot face up we take the pollen which has now turned to honey and put it in the honey jar with the tweezers.

I will pop a video in stories and save to highlights for a closer look. I think I am going to make some flowers where the β€˜pollen’ can sit once I get the correct size balls so the distinction is there.

You will need:

🐝 A piece of honeycomb cardboard

🐝 Wooden craft bees

🐝 Yellow paint

🐝 glue

🐝 Yellow wool felt balls

🐝 Velcro sticky dots

🐝 A large bee for the queen

🐝 A jar and tweezers

This months Waldorf Magic is all about Growth and one of the patterns is this Butterfly Lifecycle pattern, (I chose a cabbage white butterfly to make) can be used in play or as a prop to form a part of our storytelling for the month.

The felted cocoon wraps around the butterfly on a stick, encasing is for a surprise reveal.

My Growth pack is now online as part of my subscription , there is a delay getting it into my shop as I need to upload the video accompanying the story to the website, once this is done I will upload it to the shop and share!

I hope those of you who have bought this months Waldorf Magic enjoy the crafts and theme of the month, next month we dive into the Summer blocks which I am so excited about!
