Fairy felt daffodils 🌼

So this morning and afternoon whilst the little one was playing I made some fun little felt fairy daffodils for our perpetual seasonal display. They are quick and easy to make and look so sweet and here’s how you can make some (see my stories for a video of them in situ which I couldn’t fit here.

You will need:

Yellow felt (the same or contrasting yellow)

Green felt for leaves

Scissors

Thread

Florist wire

1. Freehand cut a five petal flower, then a small square around 1cm wide and deep this is your petals and trumpet.

2. Cut a small slit in the centre of the flower

3. Roll the felt square as tight as you can at one end and stitch to stop it unravelling. Tie off but don’t cut the needle and thread loose.

4. Pass the needle through the hole in your petals and pull the trumpet through slightly so the end you sewn is now at the back of the flower.

5. Stitch to secure, tie off trim loose thread tails.

6. Snip some florist wire about an inch long than your intended thread, insert it through the front and middle of the trumpet and through the back, folding the end over so it does not pass all the way through.

7. Cut leaves if you wish and wrap them around the stem, wrap them with a little more florist wire and use your pliers to compress the wire and fix it in place.

These can of course be added to crowns and other crafts and look so cheery and pretty! I’ll be adding a highlight with my perpetual seasonal table so for more crafts like this make sure you keep an eye out ☺️
