Egg Box Tulips 🌷Tulips from Amsterdam as my Nanna used to say. ❤️

Today has been a slow easy day. The little one has had a high temperature since yesterday evening, so amongst the cuddles and sofa snacks, I squished in an hour of weeding the garden and then after finding some rather delightful twigs decided to make some more egg box flowers for April (I loved the march daffodils and it seems you all did too!

These flowers feature in my April Sunshine Rain and Rainbows Waldorf Magic guide and I thought I would share them here for anyone wanting to use all those post Easter egg boxes and slowly ease into a post Easter rhythm next week or make a fun post egg bank holiday craft!

You need.. egg boxes, superglue or a hot glue gun, some sticks and paint (I used gouache here white, magenta and green.

Step 1. Each flower requires 6 petals, cut one set of three into a windmill style shape from the egg box, then cut three separate petals. You can paint them first or assemble the flower and then paint (I did both and it made no difference to the outcome)

Step 2. Assemble with the three separate petals inside the three which are windmill shaped, secure using superglue or a hot glue gun.

Step 3. Once dry, pierce a hole through the base and then insert the stick securing with glue.

Step 4. Paint, I painted white at the bottom, mixing it with the magenta to provide an ombré effect, then when dry added some green at the base

Step 5. Paint the stick which is inserted into the flower bright yellow or green for the stamen.

For the bud, simply use a windmill only, gather and glue it closed at one end then insert and glue to a stick. Maybe I should do a different egg box flower a month haha!

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday tomorrow everybody if you are celebrating!

Peace and love

Every year we make Easter nests from Chocolate, Shredded Wheat and Mini Eggs. Now they are usually sweet little things in a cupcake /muffin case....not this year.

We have two pairs of birds nesting in the garden at the moment, a pair of robins and a pair of wood pigeons, so the hot topic of the moment is nests and nesting!

I just couldn’t resist the urge to turn our sweet Easter make, which has been the same since I was a child, into something more.....and so the chocolate birds nests were born.

They actually look too nice to eat (swipe to see) and I am thinking one of them can sit proud on top of our Easter cake this Sunday!

All you need to do for this make is melt some chocolate, mix it with shredded wheat or all bran type cereal. Line a deep bowl with cling film then spoon in the mixture pressing up the sides and making a recess in the middle, add your mini eggs, cool and the place in the fridge to set!

Do you have a fave and easy Easter make?

So I finally got around to making some floral egg candles this afternoon for the Easter dinner table.

It was a bit of a disaster, I ran out of beeswax so couldn’t fill the shells as much as I wanted to and whilst removing the shell got a piece lodged under my nails which caused a bit of bleeding and had to be pulled out with tweezers 😂😳

Ah well some Quinoa in our wooden egg cups helps them sit proud and I think they look lovely! They will sit on our Easter table with little bunches of flowers and foliage from the garden! Sweet and simple.

Do you like decorating your dinner table at Easter - what do you do?
