What is it to EXPERIENCE Nature?

✨Suppose I walk through a field where wildflowers are blooming. The flowers reveal their colours to me through the eyes - that is the fact I accept as a give. When I then take pleasure in the wonderful display of colours, I am turning the fact into something that concerns me personally - that is, by means of my feelings, I relate the flowers to my own existence. A year later, when I go back to the same field, new flowers are there and they arouse new joy in me. The previous years enjoyment rises up as a memory; it is present in me although the object that prompted it in the first place is gone” Steiner, Theosophy, p23✨

We can get a glimpse here into the wonder and nourishment experiences in nature bring to the inner life of our children. To their view on the world, their perceptions of the changes around them. How children experience everything first time around is so crucial to their perception and experience of it in the future. How can we ensure that experiences are nourishing and positive for children?

~ Allow them physical room, to explore fully, allow them to immerse themselves in their surroundings, to feel their body grounded in the world around them, allow them to take risks to have fun with learning about their new world! Its new everyday for a child they are living moment by moment. How can we enrich and nourish children’s experiences?

~ Allow them time. When they are in a dreamy place, or sitting quietly watching that ladybird or cradling that pine come in their hand, as well meaning adults we want to draw their attention to the physical aspects of these things, where they came from, what they do. Children are already making deep soul connections to these objects and linking them to their experiences in the world that surrounds them. We don’t know what they are wondering - allow them that time to piece the puzzle together slowly, little by little to live IN the world as part of the puzzle and not view it from an outside perspective.

- Repeat experiences, allow them to revisit places year on year - to build a complex wealth of experiences that allows their soul to be filled with joy and knowing.

✨New Craft Pack to Download✨ Spring Easter Bunny and Easter Lamb Easter egg holders 🐇 🐑

This pattern came about when I was working on tiny animal ideas for finger puppets for my Baby Animals guide (out end of April) I love making the rabbits and I’ve experimented with some lovely animals for you to make including this lovely lamb included in this guide. You can download patterns for these cute bunny and lamb holders (can you spot it) in my store FREE. There are full illustrated instructions included and the pattens included are a range of sizes for the tiniest of eggs up to a large Easter Egg.

We will be using our bunnies and lamb as part of our Easter egg hunt, dotted amongst the search, you can add little notes inside above the chocolate egg, and if your Easter celebrations have a focus on faith you can use the ‘Lamb’ as the end egg! Maybe make a larger lamb for a larger egg. I will be also making some for gifts for family and friends.

Simple and easy to make and they look so sweet and great and are a winner for any last minute Easter basket additions.

Enjoy the pack if you download and thank you so much for your support with my little business! I’ll pop a swipe up link in my stories.

Peace and love and happy crafting.

So I think it’s safe to say we are obsessed when it comes to Easter egg decorating 😅

I decided last night as I struggled to find hanging space that we would decorate one each for the tree next year, as I cant bear to part with them and I really also can’t find anywhere to start storing them all 😂😂.

Do you keep all the eggs you make?

One tradition I do love is I always prune the pear tree just before the buds start to come out, by Easter they are always in bloom (swipe to see our blossom coming out)

Our beautiful wheatgrass garden from @my____fable had a haircut too today to allow it to continue to grow till Easter. We planted the wheatgrass earlier for the Sabzeh on our Nowruz table on the Vernal equinox. The cuttings will be juiced this afternoon!

Our love @waldorffamily spring wheel is awaiting some lovely crafts this week ahead of Easter

If you want to start an Easter tree it’s not to late to prune a branch from a tree that blossoms - even trees that don’t are lovely when the young leaves appear, make sure the blade is clean and sharp, cut the branch from a tree you know is healthy and are allowed to. Make sure the cut is vertical to ensure no water rests on the open wound which can cause infection. Place your branch in some water and it hopefully will blossom by Easter!
