Welcome March 🌼 Happy St David’s Day to those celebrating!

This weekend we discovered that our friendly garden Robins have decided to set up nest in our back garden!

There has been a lot of conversation about Robins, nests and eggs and it’s really timed perfect for us starting our March Waldorf Magic Guide.

Yesterday whilst in the garden with the children I had a little go at whittling birds from a stick with the new whittling set we got my son for his birthday (he’s part way through making a sword). I first saw the lovely Hannah @naturnest share little carved birds last year and after trying a couple of them included the idea to try them in my March Guide.

The little one has been amazed by them, and the little touch of watercolour has brought them to life. A celebration of the Robins who share our home and magical outdoor space.

You don’t have to whittle either to make these birds you can cut a branch (where it splits into a Y shape) one side is the head, the other is a tail. Use acrylic paints to paint them into little colourful birds for your seasonal table!

I wish you all an amazing month

Peace and love

Birthdays, special times when I remember the great blessings and Honour of motherhood the Lord gifted to me. I always like to celebrate Birthdays and we enjoy making it special!

13 years around the sun, 13 years of of being your mum,

13 years of your beautiful face, 13 years with your light and grace.

13 years of your laugh and smile, your jokes, your pranks, your fun.

I can’t express wholly with words how proud and amazed I am when I hear you call me mum.

Here’s to more laugher, to more fun, to your 14th trip around the sun.

Here’s to growing, to friends to a life as a teen, but my son you still will be and I’ll help you achieve anything you dream.

I love you my darling son! 💙

Today has been candle making day ahead of my sons birthday Friday...almost 13 years old! How the years pass us so fleetingly, leaving whispers of memories deep within us.

Some of those memories live within us so vividly, much like the sounds and smells of the seasons the seasons of our life can leave great impressions on us, I can still hear the echoes of my sons gentle murmurs and the smell of his new born hair all those years ago. How I gazed at him all night in wonder that first night of his life here on earth wondering what he was thinking as his gaze took in my blurry face and the dimmed hospital nightlight ...and I still do wonder that...as I check on him before I go to bed, him lay soundly asleep, getting as long as his bed, I wonder what he’s dreaming of.

It’s sad, but living in a relationship which was toxic and abusive a lot of those early years I have forgotten - or are at the back of my mind somehow - moments which should be crystal clear are shrouded. I never got chance to really wallow in those moments of motherhood when my ex-husband demanded so much from me. Supporting our inner life and harmonising that with the world is so so important in enabling us to be fully present in life. To live.

One of the things that has struck me and deepened my love for Waldorf Education is how it strives to support the inner development of the child. It’s not merely focused on their physical and cognitive abilities meeting their learning - it focuses on strengthening the child’s inner life with thoughtful introduction of certain stories and subjects
