Self Care and self love has become extremely important to me over the years. And my faith has been so influential in that. We are called to self love and self care as human beings.

I remember reading a story about Mother Theresa..how at 84 she had been on her feet for 14 hours, she arrived at a chapel looking weary and tired..she went in the chapel and spent an hour in prayer before coming out revitalised and ready to carry on her work! Gods love is a powerful thing!

Spending time in silence and prayer has become a habit which sustains my mentally and physically through the day.

I’ve learnt that through self care and allowing myself that time with the Lord I can be less like a stream constantly giving until a drought dries it up, and more like an overflowing bowl…fulfilled within, yet still overflowing with love and energy to give to everyone else.

Self Care for me is about finding beauty in my motherhood and womanhood controlling my

Anxious behaviours and allowing my life to become fruitful and productive in a positive and calm way.

How do you Weave self love and care into your day?

Since I turned mid-thirties my skin has been a big concern as I can visibly notice changes and signs of ageing. So today after I had enjoyed a pot of tea using one of my teabags my son bought me from @twgteaofficial on his school trip in London I decided I didn’t want to waste a drop and used the cold tea to make a simple facial toner. It’s so easy and refreshing for any skin.

You will need

🌹 100ml Rose Tea

🌹1TBSP rose petals (optional)

🌹1tsp Aloe Vera Juice

🌹1tsp Glycerine

Steep the rose petals in the tea (if using) mix in the aloe Vera juice and glycerine, decant into a bottle then store in the fridge! It’s that easy I made some extra for my holidays in a couple of weeks time.

How does your self care look?

⭐️ Star Money Mobile ⭐️ As part of this weeks #fairytaleweeks I have decided to make an easy mobile, great for the playroom or nursery and great for beginners too. All you need is: ⭐️ Embroidery inner hoop pr macrame hoop ⭐️ Star cookie cutters in different sizes ⭐️ Medium size circle cutter ⭐️ Wool roving in yellows, a skin tone of choice ⭐️ A polystyrene ball or other small wool ball for the head ⭐️ Pipe cleaner ⭐️ Needle felting Mat and needle ⭐️ Sewing Needle and threads in various colours ⭐️ Wool yarn in hair colour of choice and matching thread ⭐️ Scrap fabric for clothes ⭐️ Yarn for hanging and hook Method: 1. Felt your stars and moon, fill your cookie cutters with wool roving and then use your needle to felt the fibres together on a felting May until the shapes are smooth and defined. Depending on the quality of your roving you might jot get a completely smooth finish. 2. Make you doll head, pull tufts of roving and arrange crossed in a start, place the centre point on the ball and pull and smooth down the rest of the roving around the ball to the base to form a neck, use a strip of roving to wrap around to secure and felt closed with your needle. 3. Cut a pipe cleaner so it looks a right length, fold the ends over to make hands, wrap tight in roving and then felt. Place between the ‘neck’ tuft below the head and felt to secure. Wrap extra roving around the neck and under the arms to build a body. 4. Trace around your scrap fabric three layers of dress. Use a back stitch to sew the seams leaving the holes for the arms and neck. Turn the right way and then slip over the head, with two of the layers at the front of the doll and one at the back. 5. Take the top layer at the front, Pull it up over the hands to form a pouch and stitch, you can place a star in here or a battery operated tea light. 6. Add hair, stitching lengths of yarn onto the top of the head and then plaiting and styling, stitch into place. 7. Thread yarn crosswise across your hoop, knot a thread and pass it up through the doll head securing with a stitch, thread on your moons and stars. Finally balance the mobile by adding yarn at 4 equidistant points of the hoop,
